Isis High enjoyed the presence of a new Principal recently when the newly elected Member for Burnett

Isis High enjoyed the presence of a new Principal recently when the newly elected Member for Burnett, Mr Stephen Bennett MP took over running the school. The promotion Principal for a Day was a part of State Education Week recognising the important role played by state schools in delivering quality education to Queensland’s young people.

Mr Bennett started his day as Principal with a School Assembly at which he spoke with students about the importance of school as a pathway to the future. He reminded students to enjoy their days at school and work as hard as they could.

Mr Bennett had a tour of the school, a number of meetings with staff groups and interviews with students.

Principal, Allan Cook, School Captains Robert Suter and Grace Randell and P&C President Mrs Roxanne Harney were happy to meet with Mr Bennett at a special Morning Tea.

A Morning Tea attended by school leaders from staff and students, as well as the P&C Executive and school supporters was also conducted. He had a busy day of meetings with staff groups and students, as well as inspecting several facilities jobs currently in progress at the school.

As a result of the visit, Mr Bennett is now more familiar with many of the operations at the school. He was impressed with the efficient and organised manner with which the school goes about their work and with the achievements of students. Our school very much enjoyed having Mr Bennett at the school.
