Lifeskills Parent Information Session

Wednesday 8 October, 7:00pm

Isis District State High School - Drama Room (B Block)

Cost: FREE

Michael Jeh was our Guest Speaker at last years Awards Evening. He worked with our students last year too and will be again working with them this week. A former first-class cricketer and Oxford Blue, he now runs lifeskills programs for many of the country’s elite athletes, including the ARU, Swimming Australia, Queensland Cricket, Surfing Australia and Surf Lifesaving Australia. He is also a regular commentator in the media on issues connected with adolescents, risk-taking and respect for women.

This session, aimed specifically at the parents of teenagers, will focus on demystifying risk-taking behaviours and how we can work with our  students/children to create an environment that mitigates the risks of drugs, alcohol, parties, fights, social media etc without damaging the relationships we seek to build with them as they navigate adolescence.

It is aimed at a wide audience of parents of students from Years 5-12 and will no doubt reflect what your son or daughter may encounter through life experience.

Michael will be working with all Isis District High School students this week, facilitating various workshops for them on similar issues. Based on feedback from previous years, his presentations are guaranteed to inspire and confront in equal measure.
