Discipline Audit Report

8/05/2014
Last week our school underwent a School Discipline Audit which is a requirement of every school in Queensland.  This audit was conducted over the course of a day, and the Auditor took time to select parents, students and staff and interview them with a range of questions. In his feedback to us at the end of the day the auditor commended the school on the following points:
·    The Principal and school leaders have accepted personal responsibility for ensuring a safe, supportive and disciplined learning environment and demonstrate a strong conviction that student engagement and regular attendance are keys to improved student learning.
·    The school has a well balanced approach to quality teaching and learning, as well as the development of students’ social and emotional needs.
·    The Junior Secondary Reference Group has an ongoing commitment to providing an informed and supportive transition for students from primary school through reflecting upon current processes to ensure a successful transition of Year 7 students into high school.
·    The Alternate Learning Pathway Program and facility provides an excellent educational support program for disengaged Year 9 and Year 10 students leading to re-engagement or transition to employment.

Isis District State High School was rated in the ‘High’ category across all five domains that are audited. We are very proud of this outcome.  Click here for the complete audit report along with parent fact sheet. I encourage you all to take the time to read it, as it provides you with an insight as to how we are operating as a school and the strong standards and expectations that are flowing through at all levels.
